To make life easier, we’ve mapped out the three nest sites for you, along with tips on how to approach each nest. 

The Pioneer Cemetery is one of the first locations that you come to during the game if you follow the early Out of Nowhere quest to find Leon’s stash by the Angel Statue. The sites may look close according to the above map picture, but they are actually quite spread out and it can be easy to miss one of the infestations.

South-west infestation nest – Pioneer Cemetery

The first infestation nest will be the first one you encounter as you travel towards the Pioneer Cemetery from the south-west. 

As you enter the southern part of the infestation area, a house is located just off the road to your left. There are usually a fair number of infected on the main road, too, indicating that you are near the nest. 

East infestation nest – Pioneer Cemetery

The second Pioneer Cemetery Infestation nest location is the easternmost nest and is situated slightly to the east of the angel statue in the cemetery. 

The nest is found inside a large red barn, and you can easily see it from afar so throwing a molotov from a reasonable distance will allow for a quick escape if desired. 

Some people have reported a bug at this infestation site, and even after clearing the nest, Deacon may comment that another nest is nearby. Don’t worry though, there is only one nest here, and the other locations are indicated in this article. 

North infestation nest – Pioneer Cemetery

The final nest is the one that took me the longest to find as it is slightly away from the cemetery on a raised bit of land that overlooks Pioneer Cemetery. This is the northernmost nest in the cemetery. 

The nest is located inside a small barn with a side porch. It’s hard to miss as there will be infected around the area waiting to attack. It’s best to take out these guys silently before torching the building. There is also a blue car next to the building which can help you identify the correct site.

Granted, it’s not perfect, and the occasional bug pops up to leave you internally sighing, but overall the game provides a wonderfully immersive experience in a world that’s abrim with things to see and places to explore. 

Part of what makes the game so great is the characters. You can’t help but become emotionally attached to some of them. So, we’ve had a go at ranking the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077 in this completely objective list. Let us know your favorites in the comment section below!

V – Cyberpunk 2077

It feels like cheating to start off with the main playable character and protagonist, but V is definitely worthy of a mention. I chose to play as the male version of V, and the voice acting was superb. I hear the same is also true of the female V. 

While controlling V, it was the first time in a long while that I really grew attached to my character, and I genuinely liked playing as them.

This might be because of the stylistic choice to only allow first-person perspective – something I (incorrectly) thought would be a mistake – but is more probably down to the fact that V has good dialogue options, and you can mould your character to behave in a way similar to how you might act in the same situation.  

Rogue Anderson – Cyberpunk 2077

I personally feel that Rogue is a very average character whose conversations always seemed to bore me and with whom I had to pry my fingers away from the “Skip Ahead” button. It’s not so much that she was written badly, it’s more the case that I found her character boring.

With that being said, though, there’s no denying that Rogue is integral to the multiple story arcs and plays a big role in the game. Without Rogue, you wouldn’t meet Panam, for example, and you also wouldn’t be able to delve into Johnny Silverhand’s past so thoroughly (some may think that’s a good thing!).

Either way, the game as a whole would not be as good without her, so Rogue has to be one of the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077.  

Viktor Vector – Cyberpunk 2077

This may be controversial, as I know that a lot of people love Viktor Vector, but for me I think the fanfare is overdone. I mean, I like Viktor’s character, don’t get me wrong, but I never felt any sort of attachment to him.

Viktor is a nice man, and he helps V out in immeasurable ways. Yet, his strong connection to V is only ever implied, as opposed to made within the game. For me, this made it very hard to warm too much to Viktor. 

That being said, Viktor is a constant in the game, and a friendly face that I was always happy to see. For the reasons already stated, though, I can’t put him higher in this best Cyberpunk 2077 characters list. 

Johnny Silverhand – Cyberpunk 2077

Whether you like or loathe Johnny Silverhand, there’s no denying that he’s entertaining. Granted, he’s self-serving, misogynistic, and generally just a bit of a wally, but he adds value to the game and (oftentimes) injects some much needed humor to some of the slower missions. 

I don’t think that Johnny is even meant to be likeable, and the character plays on this. His blasé attitude towards life and death is apparent whenever he appears, and is something that Keanu Reeves portrays well, despite some of the criticism that came his way. 

As with the aforementioned Rogue, Johnny Silverhand is not one of my personal favorites, but he definitely makes the game better, and for that reason he has to be included as one of the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077. 

River Ward – Cyberpunk 2077

Purely from the perspective of the side quests he provides, River is easily one of the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077. I say that as someone who did not romance the character and feel the clarification is necessary as many have reported that the romancing of River is lacklustre and poorly played out. 

The side quest with River very much had that Deckard/Blade Runner-vibe to it, something that I enjoyed very much. The detective work is depressing but engaging, and you encounter the lowest form of low along the way. 

Without giving too much away, this was one of the best side quests in the game, and one that I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom of.  

Delamain – Cyberpunk 2077

For many, Delamain tops the list of the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077, and it’s easy to see why. I think of Delamain as the C3PO of Night City, with his android tendencies so obviously shadowing his attempts to appear human, often with comedic effect. 

Delamain’s side quests are among the best in the game, and provide a much needed chuckle in a game that can get quite dark at times.

Jackie Welles – Cyberpunk 2077

Perhaps it’s true that Jackie is in this list by virtue of being the first character in the game that you became emotionally attached to, but that still counts for something. 

When you first enter Night City, Jackie serves as a beacon of hope and teaches V that not everybody is out for themselves. Jackie is kind, loyal, and loveable, all wrapped up into one tidy package of braun and charm. Plus, he leaves his very nice Arch motorcycle to V… 

Goro Takemura – Cyberpunk 2077

Goro is one of the characters that I spent most of the time getting to know simultaneously wondering if I liked him or not. This is, of course, intentional on the part of the writers, with V’s inner monologue even making a point of telling him not to trust Goro. 

After some time, though, Takemura’s dignity and integrity shine through, and it is his adherence to his values that make him so likeable. 

Without giving too much away about Takemura, his story gets more interesting with each mission, and there is a reason why he is considered to be a favorite among so many players. 

Judy Alvarez – Cyberpunk 2077

Judy is another one of those characters in the game that will leave you thinking about them long after you stop playing. 

You first meet Judy through Evelyn, and initially I got the impression that Evelyn would be the bigger character of the two. This was not the case, and rightfully so, too. 

The thing about Judy is that she felt so real: the rebellious exterior that masked great insecurity; her blind ambition to do the right thing while not seeing the problems that lay ahead; and a sense of loneliness and resignation to the horrible nature of Night City that leaves a bitter undertone to her dialogue.

All these things made her authentic, and it’s this authenticity that resonates with so many players, and why she has gained a committed following since the game was released. For sure, Judy’s story is one that will keep you gripped throughout.  

For me, Panam is easily the best character in Cyberpunk 2077. From the first moment you interact with her it is clear that she will play an important role in V’s story. 

The emotional connection built with Panam feels very real, and you couldn’t help but smile when you receive a text message from her. The only complaint I’d have about Panam’s character is how quickly she goes from cold to hot with how she feels about V when they first meet. It was a little confusing, but this could also be explained by her highly strung nature. 

It’s testament to the writing team how quickly the player is able to feel emotionally connected to Panam, and that’s not because she’s the perfect character, but because she feels very real. Panam, like everyone, is flawed. On the one hand you have a caring and tenacious character who gets the job done, but on the other hand, she could easily be described as selfish, blindly pursuing her goals no matter who gets hurt along the way.

This complexity in personality is what makes Panam one of the best characters in Cyberpunk 2077. That and, of course, the fact the she’s a beer-chugging hottie with a penchant for doing the no-pants dance in high grade military tanks.

Metal-plated battle axe icon – KCD

The best axe in the game is the Metal-Plated Battle Axe. Rather confusingly, there are two axes with the exact same name. Both are great weapons, but the one we I refer to here is the spiked Metal-plated battle axe (see above picture). 

The Metal-plated battle axe has great Stab (27), Slash (42), and Blunt (40) damage. It also has good Durability (70).

Yew Longbow – KCD

The best Bow in Kingdom Come Deliverance is the Yew Longbow, which can be bought from Berthold the huntsman in Rattay, or located in the Treasure Map I chest. 

The Yew Longbow has a devastating 77 Power stat, which is higher than any other bow. It is, however, also the most expensive bow in the game, and is worth 553.4 Groschen. 

Not only is the Yew Longbow one of the best bows, but it also looks beautiful too.

Ornamental Dagger Icon

The Dagger only becomes useful once Henry unlocks the Stalk Kill Perk after reaching Stealth level 5. 

There are only two types of usable daggers in the game, too. The regular Dagger is one, and the other is the Ornamental Dagger.

The best dagger in KCD is the Ornamental Dagger, which can be found in the Sasau Monastery during the A Needle in a Haystack quest. After finding the dagger in the dormitories, the Worldy Goods quest will be activated. 

Find the Decorated Sabre at Menhart’s grave

Sabres are among the weakest weapons in KCD, with the only real advantage being that they show up abundantly due to being carried in huge quantities by the Cumans. 

The best Sabre in Kingdom Come Deliverance is the Decorated Sabre whichh has high Stab (58) and Slash (42) damage, along with a decent Defence stat (69). It can be found from the grave of Menhart after the All that Glisters quest. 

Note: Technically, the best Sabre in the game is the Oriental Blade, but this wasn’t included in the list as it is unobtainable without cheat codes.   

The Stinger has great Stab damage

Shortswords are many people’s first choice of weapon type in the game due to the fact that you can hold a shield at the same time, and the fact that there are a wide array of shortswords available in the game. 

The best shortsword in KCD, in my opinion, is the Noble Sword. It is a great all-rounder and has good Stab (61), Slash (61), Defence (75), and Charisma (18) attributes. It can be found by locating the chest in Treasure map XIII, or as loot from defeating Hagen Zoul.

There are a number of good shortswords, though, and the Stinger is also one of the best weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance, with a high Stab damage of 79. 

The Noble’s Hunting Sword – KCD

The best Hunting Sword in KCD is the Noble’s Hunting Sword. It has the highest Stab damage (48) and the second highest Slash damage (43) of all the hunting swords in the game. 

Not only that, but the weapon also provides huge benefits to Charisma (12) and is an excellent defensive weapon (86). 

The Noble’s Hunting Sword can be bought from the Rattay Swordsmith, awarded as a prize in the Rattay Tourney, or by locating the chest in Treasure Map III.  

Other great hunting swords include the Falchion, and the Cleaver.

Location of St. George’s Sword in KCD

The best Longsword in Kingdom Come Deliverance is St. George’s Sword. In fact, for many, St. George’s Sword is at the top of the pile of the best weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance. 

This longsword is a good all-rounder with excellent attributes, including Stab (72), Slash (72), Defence (110), Charisma (18), and Durability (71).  St. George’s Sword can be found using the Treasure Map VII, and is located in a chest by a tree north west of Ledetchko (see picture above). It can also be awarded as a prize in the Rattay Tourney. 

A table of Maces – Kingdom Come Deliverance

Maces are easily among the best weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance, and the best Mace in KCD is widely considered to be the Cermonial Mace. 

It has the joint best Blunt damage (61) of all the Maces in the game, but also has a very high Defence attribute (43) and Durability (81). The Ceremonial Mace can be found on various guards, and can also be bought at the Swordsmith of Rattay. 

Another very good Mace is the Bailiff’s Mace, which has the following attributes: Blunt (61), Stab (2), Slash (2), Defence (30), and Durability (55). 

Halberds in Pirkenstein Guard Tower

Although Polearms and Spears can’t be added to your inventory, it’s always good when you find one lying around or snatch one that has been dropped by an enemy. 

They are among the most powerful and best weapons in Kingdom Come Deliverance, with some having the potential to cause almost twice the damage of most Maces and Swords. 

The best Polearm in the game is the Halberd, which has good Stab (100), Slash (122), and Blunt (28) damage. The Halberd can be found in Rattay, inside Pirkenstein’s guard tower. 

Another very strong Polearm is the Lucerne Hammer, which deals the highest Blunt (87) damage of any weapon in the entire game.

Pickman’s Blade – Fallout 4

If you’re going for a stealth melee build, Pickman’s Blade could be for you. It is strong, fast, and does Bleed damage that can wound your enemies into oblivion. Pickman’s Blade also has a hidden sneak attack bonus that deals extra damage to opponents. 

This combat knife melee weapon can be found in a wall safe behind Pickman’s painting. The safe requires Master level to get to it, though, so you have to get the key by navigating your way through a number of Pickman’s gangmen.

The only drawback of having this weapon so early is that the game may become too easy!

Atom’s Judgement – Fallout 4

Atom’s Judgement is easily one of the strongest melee weapons in Fallout 4. It is a unique super sledge that was added as part of the Far Harbor DLC and can be obtained during ‘The Heretic’ Children of Atom quest. 

Not only does it deal greater damage than the average super sledge, but it also deals a great amount of radiation damage, so it is a great choice if you’re fighting human opponents. 

Where Atom’s Judgement fails, though, is in its weight. It weighs a total of 20 pounds, and is a very slow and cumbersome weapon to use. For these reasons, it can’t be higher up on the list. 

Kremvh’s Tooth – Fallout 4

For anyone going for a melee build, you’ve probably already read about how good Kremvh’s Tooth is. 

This unique machete is modded with the Sacrificial Blade, which gives it a large damage boost and inflicts additional poison and bleeding. In fact, once you have found Kremvh’s Tooth, the Sacrificial Blade mod can be added to any other machete found in the game, too, which is another reason why this is one of the best Fallout 4 melee weapons. 

Kremvh’s Tooth can be found in an underwater shaft at Dunwich Borers marble quarry. If you go there, though, just watch out for The Forged and Feral Ghouls.

The Harvester – Fallout 4

The Harvester is a unique staggering variant of the Ripper, and is one the most powerful weapons in the entire game. What makes it so great is that you can defeat any enemy in the game purely by keeping them staggered and hacking away at them until the job is done.  

It is also a relatively fast weapon, and is able to plough through crowds of enemies if you’re able to cripple them by targeting their limbs. 

The Harvester was added in the Far Harbor DLC and can be located at Echo Lake Lumber, in a Steamer Trunk inside the large building. 

Grognak’s Axe – Fallout 4

Grognak’s Axe is, in my opinion, the best weapon in Fallout 4. It is insanely powerful and causes enemies to stagger and bleed upon impact. Not only that, but Grognak’s Axe has uncharacteristically low AP cost for a two-handed weapon and you can get a high number of swings in using VATS. 

The only drawback to Grognak’s Axe is that it is a bit of a pain to get. For those willing to find it, though, it is located in an Advanced-locked display case on the First Floor of Hubrics Comics, behind the shop counter.

In Rust you wake up naked on a beach and must survive

Rust is a multiplayer survival game that takes place in a hostile open world environment where players try to take each other down in order to survive. It sounds brutal, and it really can be. 

In Rust, you have to be mindful of your health parameters – stay well fed, keep warm, and watch your stamina levels whilst in the water. You also have to be aware of the wildlife that surrounds you, with wolves and bears being a particular threat to your existence. It’s the other players, though, who will be both your biggest asset and danger.

If you’re looking for the best games like 7 Days to Die, Rust is a good place to start. It is challenging, rewarding, good-looking, and smooth. It should be noted that the community has a reputation for being quite toxic, so be mindful of that if you are looking to get started.

DayZ – PC Gameplay

Year of Initial Release: 2018

What started as a mod for ARMA 2 has turned into one of the best zombie survival games around. Set in the fictional Chernarus, the main goal of DayZ is to stay alive for as long as possible in the midst of a zombie outbreak that pits players against the raging undead. 

Find supplies, clothing, food, and shelter along the way, and look out for weapons and firearms that make defending yourself a bit easier. You can make friends (or, most likely, enemies) with other players throughout your journey, too, and this is one of the game’s best aspects. There are times when the generosity of strangers has really got me out of a pickle, but most of the time you can expect a fight. 

All in all, the DayZ community is a nice one, and this is definitely one to try if you’re in the market for games similar to 7 Days to Die.

Project Zomboid PC Gameplay

Developer: The Indie Stone

Platform: Java, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux

Year of Initial Release: 2013 (still in alpha stage)

In the interest of full disclosure, when I first played Project Zomboid I went into the game expecting not to like it. There was something about the isometric viewpoint and basic aesthetic that I thought would limit the immersion. Fortunately, the game proved me wrong. 

Project Zomboid is one of the most in depth survival games around. There is so much to do that it’s truly surprising how cheap you can pick the game up for. One of the coolest aspects of the game is the Trait system, which dictates what skills and perks your character has. The thing is though, you must balance positive and negative traits in order to have any. For example, if you want the Locksmith perk to be able to break into doors easily, you may have to take on the negative Trait of being a smoker, meaning that your character will have another parameter to be mindful of whilst trying to negotiate survival. 

At the moment, it’s more of a single player game, but there are plans to greatly expand the multiplayer mode in the near future. This is one that you’ll not want to miss if you’re a fan of survival games, and it’ll definitely scratch that itch if you’re looking for games like 7 Days to Die.

Explore the vast world of Conan the Barbarian

Year of Initial Release: 2018

If you’re looking for games like 7 Days to Die without zombies, then Conan Exiles could be the one for you. This is a prehistoric survival game that explores the canon of Conan the Barbarian through the lens of a customizable player character. 

By using the natural resources in the biomes you find yourself in, players need to stay on top of hunger and thirst levels, and will need to keep an eye out for hostile enemies that include the NPC wildlife and other players. 

The more you play, the more Experience points you will gain. This is how you progress in the game. Experience points allow you to augment your combat, crafting, and gathering skills, and soon enough you’ll become a survival expert with a large base to monitor and manage.

Look out for dangerous wildlife in the Long Dark

Developer: Hinterland Studio Inc.

Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Year of Initial Release: 2017

For many, The Long Dark is the most realistic survival game around. It is also one of the best. This is a first-person survival game that tries to be as true to real life as possible. There are no fantasy elements, and you must only learn how to survive against the cold, dark, hunger, and wildlife. I say only, but this is actually extremely challenging. 

It’s likely you will die a number of times before getting the hang of things, and for this reason I’d recommend doing the campaign mode first. It is both engaging and illuminating. 

The Long Dark has a great sense of atmosphere, too, in a way that the other games like 7 Days to Die aren’t able to replicate. If you are looking to get completely immersed in a survival experience, this could be the one for you.

Ark Survival Evolved PC Gameplay

As action-survival games go, Ark: Survival Evolved is up there with the cream of the crop. It truly is an incredible game and if you’re looking for games like 7 Days to Die that don’t have zombies, I would highly recommend this. 

After finding yourself stranded on a mysterious island crammed full of primeval creatures and fantastical beasts, you must learn to negotiate the harsh environments by killing or taming animals, gathering food and resources, and building shelters. The building aspect of Ark is particularly impressive, and I have seen some rather phenomenal bases. 

Some people say that there is an awful lot of grinding, with very little to show for it at the end. While I can see the point, it’s still very satisfying playing with a group of friends and navigating your way to a state of surviving and thriving.

Valheim PC Gameplay

Developer: Iron Gate AB

Platform: Microsoft Windows, Linux

Year of Release: 2021 (early access)

Valheim is a truly beautiful survival game experience that can be enjoyed both as a single-player and as a multiplayer. If you’re not bothered about zombies, this is the best game like 7 Days to Die you can find. 

Survival has never been so fun as you build, craft, fight, and explore your way through the harsh open world. There are both PvE and PvP aspects, and making friends in the game is incentivized if you want to make survival as easy as possible. 

You can develop vast viking settlements, build and sail ships to explore the seas, and craft weapons and armor using the finest resources available. At present, the community is a friendly one, and it is a great time to get into the game if you’re looking for a new survival game to sink your teeth into.

Find a chair to sit down in order to rest in Fallout 4

Waiting in Fallout 4 is simple enough to do, and it works the same on ALL platforms. The only difference being the button you have to press. 

To wait in Fallout 4, you must first find a chair or bench, which is a pretty easy task given the vast open world of the Wasteland. You can also craft a chair if you are in one of your strongholds and have the required materials.  

Once you have located a chair, interact with it using the activate button, and then bring up the rest menu by pressing the correct button when prompted. See below for the instructions as per the platform being used. 

To wait in Fallout 4 on the PlayStation 4, simply approach a chair and press the X button to interact with it, then press the Triangle button to rest. 

To wait in Fallout 4 on the Xbox One, you must press the A button to sit down on the chair, and then the Y button to bring up the rest menu. 

If not using a controller for the PC version of Fallout 4, press the E key to interact with a chair or bench, and then press the Spacebar key to bring up the rest menu. 

Some people like to wait until daylight to venture the Wasteland

Waiting in Fallout 4 has a number of useful functions. Perhaps most importantly, you can wait near a building or store that is only open at specific times. By waiting on a seat near your desired location, you can set the timer to end right as the building will open up again, meaning you don’t have to wander around aimlessly to pass the time. 

Waiting can also be useful if you’ve decided that you don’t want to venture into the Wasteland at night. In this instance, wait until the sun rises before continuing your travels, at least then the nuclear monsters will be less daunting. 

It can also be beneficial to wait in the Survival Mode in Fallout 4, as it can allow for water or food to respawn over time. 

It is not always possible to wait when you want to. If you are near enemies, for example, you will not be allowed to wait and the wait button will not show, even if you are sitting down on a chair. 

Find a bed to rest in Fallout 4

Resting in Fallout 4 is just as easy as waiting. Instead of finding a chair/bench/sofa, simply find or construct a bed. 

Once you have located a bed, interact with it using the activate button, and then press the correct button to sleep once prompted. Resting will restore your health fully but you will not be able to sleep if there are enemies nearby.

5. Complete Missions

Complete Story Missions to make fast money in Red Dead Redemption 2

Perhaps the most obvious way to make money in RDR2 is also one of the best. Simply complete as many missions as possible, be it main storyline quests or side quests, there is usually a sizable bag of money to be made. 

Granted, it’s easy to get lost in the exploration of the vast Midwestern map of Red Dead Redemption 2, and a good way to do this is to initiate all the stranger missions you encounter along the way. These missions will also be a nice little earner. 

A few personal favorite stranger missions are The Smell of Grease Paint, which is found in the Saloon at Van Horn Trading Post, and The Veteran, a story involving a veteran soldier, a wooden leg, and a boisterous horse named Buell.  

4. Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map

Treasure maps in general are a great way to make money in RDR2, but the Jack Hall Gang treasure maps will reward you handsomely if you find the booty successfully.  

There are four locations in total in the Jack Hall Gang treasure hunt, the first three locations contain maps, with the last of the maps being a clue to the final location. The treasure found in the final location is two gold bars. Combined, these gold bars will fetch around $1,000, making the Jack Hall Gang treasure hunt a very worthwhile investment of your time. 

3. Clear Bandit Camps

One of the fastest and most satisfying ways to make money in RDR2 is to clear out the many bandit camps that are scattered throughout the map. 

Most bandit camps can be spotted from a distance by smoke rising in the sky. The outlaws that guard these hideouts do so for good reason, they are protecting chests and lock boxes filled with money and treasure from their looting and robbery. 

Not only will clearing out these bandits make you feel a good sense of justice, but you’ll also come away with a ton of XP and a varying amount of money, too. Some camps may even have gold bars stashed away.  

2. Sell Horses

Tame wild horses and sell them for profit

If you’d rather keep your gun holstered and make money in an honorable fashion, you can take the more agreeable cowboy route of capturing and selling horses. 

Wild horses roam the map in several locations, with some of the hotspots being Cumberland Forest, the central Heartlands, and high up in the Grizzlies near the Wapati Reservation. Once you’ve tamed a horse, it can be taken to any stable and sold for pure profit. This method is fast, easy, and rewarding, and can also be a good way to discover new locations in the map. 

Without a doubt, selling horses is one of the best ways to make money in RDR2, and if your out in the wilderness getting your nature kick, you could even unt a few animals to stow in your horse for the return journey, the pelts and meat from different animals can bring in a pretty penny. 

1. Rob Trains

One of the most lucrative activities in Red Dead Redemption 2 is to rob trains. This isn’t everyone’s cup of tea as it involves being very dishonorable and can also be quite difficult. But for some the money is worth it. 

To rob a train, simply board it and wait for the train to depart, whilst in motion, head to the front of the train (discreetly if possible) and dispose of the train driver. You’ll want to be wearing a bandana as there will be a huge bounty on your head if not. 

Quickly make your way through the carriages and rob as many passengers as possible before the police turn up. It’s likely you’ll have to deal with a few train guards en route, too. 

When the police arrive, they’ll bring a serious amount of firepower with them, jump on your horse as quickly as possible and make your escape. Losing them will be a challenge, but it’ll be worth it for the loot.

Shield surfing downhill will make you go faster

Learning how to shield surf in BOTW is very simple, just follow the proceeding steps and you’ll be surfing in no time. 

The first step of shield surfing is to find a shield to surf on (could be a tongue twister in there somewhere?…).

The shield should not be your most expensive one as shield surfing damages, and can eventually break, the shield that you use. It’s best to use some of the cheaper, more disposable shields that you can find easily in the game such as Pot Lids, Wooden Shields, or Boku Shields.  

Once you have an appropriate shield, find it in your inventory and equip it. Now, you’re ready to surf. 

With the shield equipped, Hold Block, then Jump and Press A. This will cause Link to slam the shield down beneath him and engage the surf mode. That’s it, now you know how to shield surf in BOTW!

Now that you know how to surf, you can practice it anywhere to get a little better at it. The fields of Hyrule are a good place to start. Going down slopes will lead to a faster surf and, likewise, you’ll slow down when surfing uphill.

It is also possible to equip your bow and arrow whilst shield surfing, which can be a fun way to take out enemies as you zoom past them.  

Different terrains can affect how fast you shield surf

Whilst I still recommend using the cheap, easily found shields to shield surf in BOTW, there are some shields that you can use once you get better at it and want to go faster (such as in the shield surfing minigame). 

The Radiant Shield is the fastest shield for shield surfing as it has a low friction rate allowing you to zoom along the surface with little resistance. It is also very durable, so will not diminish in quality as fast as some of the other shields. 

Another good option is the Ancient Shield. This shield has the best durability of all the shields in the game, so it will last for a long time when shield surfing. The only problem is that the Ancient Shield isn’t a common acquisition for players until later on in the game.  

Link shield surfing through the grass

To shield surf faster, try starting at the top of a hill and you will pick up pace and accelerate as you surf downwards. Avoid going upwards on slopes as this will slow your shield surf down and eventually bring you to a halt. 

The only other factor that will impact the speed you travel while surfing is the shield you use. Some shields, such as the Radiant Shield and the Ancient Shield, have less friction and allow you to move faster on the whatever surface you are travelling on.  

Unfortunately, yes it does. Shield surfing will damage your shield over time, which is why we recommend using lower quality shields for the majority of your shields. 

If you’re willing to dedicate one of your better shields with a higher durability to surfing, then it will certainly last for longer.

Hunting isn’t really conducive to the clean and well-pruned lifestyle

There are a couple of ways to clean clothes in RDR2, and they’re incredibly easy. Just choose one of the options below and you’ll be spick and span in no time. 

One of the best ways to clean your clothes in RDR2 is to have a bath at one of the many available bathing facilities found throughout the map. They are usually found in saloons or hotels. The first one you are likely to encounter in the story mode is in Valentine, at the hotel opposite the saloon. 

If you’re out hunting with no bath or hotel in your near vicinity, you can always just go for a swim in the wilderness. 

You’ll never be too far from a stream, river, or lake in RDR2, so if you get a little muddy crouching around in the wetlands trying to find the perfect shot on those alligators, just take a dip in the water afterwards to wash away all the dirt. 

Perhaps the easiest way to clean your clothes is to select an outfit that you have previously saved to your saddle. 

To do this, simply approach your horse and activate the saddle wheel menu. Scroll to the desired outfit you want to change to and select it. The outfit you change into will be clean, so you won’t need to visit a bath or nearby water body. 

This even works if you select the same outfit that you are currently wearing.  

It’s not possible to clean clothes in RDR2 by going for a bath. The other options will still work, though. So if your character gets dirty, either go for a dip in a nearby river, or change your outfit by using the wheel menu on your horse’s saddle. 

Arthur in need of a good clean

In RDR2, you’ll want to wear the appropriate clothes for the biome that you’re in. Wearing summer clothes in the snowy mountains will cause Arthur’s health to drain faster due to the chilly weather. Likewise, wearing winter clothes in the New Austin desert will completely sap your stamina levels. 

Clothing also affects how NPCs will react to Arthur throughout the game. People will likely turn up their nose at you if you’re strolling around town caked in mud. This is why it’s important to know how to clean clothes in RDR2, you’ll get a better reception from those around you. 

Some clothes also provide stat buffs when you are wearing the full outfit. One of the best outfits is outlined in the next section. 

Legend of the East Outfit

The most expensive outfit in RDR2 is the Legend of the East outfit. It is also one of the best looking and has some incredible stat boosts. Deadeye, Eagle Eye, melee defense, and weapon degradation stats (among others) are all augmented when the full Legend of the East outfit is equipped. 

Unlocking this outfit isn’t easy, though. To get the Legends of the East outfit you must complete all of the single-player challenges (Banditry, Herbalist, Survivalist, etc.).

The Nameless Terror quest becomes available just before meeting the Duke

The quest can be started just before the first time you meet with Duke Edmun Dragonsbane in the quest Come to Court. 

Travel to the southern gate of Gran Soren and interact with Ser Reckart to trigger the quest. Reckart will warn the Arisen that he is in danger and that there are dark forces (known as the Nameless Men) out to kill you. In doing so, Reckart will give the Arisen an Unsigned Letter that confirms the threat from the Nameless Men. 

Despite the group being known as the Nameless Men, they are in fact a group of eleven bandits made up of both men and women. These bandits are split into 5 different locations, but there are no quest markers for you to follow on your map. See below for the ambush locations. 

The last Ambush is just outside Cassardis’ gate

There are 5 ambush locations in the Nameless Terror quest, and you’ll encounter a varying number of the Nameless Men at each of them. The first four locations can usually be completed in any order, but the fifth location must be completed last. The 5 ambush spots are:

1. Just after the bridge to the north of Gran Soren.
   This is usually the first ambush that you’ll encounter in the Nameless Terror Quest, and here you will be attacked by four bandits – Ghost, Phantom, Spirit, and Soul. 
2. At the northern entrance of the Ancient Quarry.
   Three of the Nameless Men bandits will attack you here just outside the northern entrance to the quarry. They are called Raven, Hawk, and Condor. 
3. On the mountain pass towards the Mountain Waycastle.
   The ambush can take place at numerous locations on the mountain pass, but usually occurs by the Mountain Cottage.
   The bandit that attacks you here is called Darkness. There is sometimes a glitch that prevents Darkness from spawning. If this happens, continue on to the next location and you may be able to complete the quest without ever encountering this ambush. 
4. North of the Abandoned Storehouse.
   You’ll find the Abandoned Storehouse on the road between the Encampment and the Mountain Waycastle. The bandits that attack you here are called Rogue and Noir, and they can be quite tricky if you’re not prepared for them. 
5. Outside the Cassardis gate.
   The final ambush brings you up against the leader of the Nameless Men, Zero. The fight is challenging but shouldn’t be too much of a challenge if you have a good battle strategy and strong Pawns travelling with you. Defeating Zero will reward the Arisen with the Tightly Folded Letter and lead to the end of the Dragon’s Dogma Nameless Terror Quest.

Gergori – Dragon’s Dogma

Once you have defeated Zero, the bandit leader, you will be given the quest item of the Tightly Folded Letter. The letter indicates that “All children of the true god know the Arisen is the end of hope”, and calls for the Arisen to be “expunged”. 

Acquiring the letter allows you to complete the noticeboard quest, Lost Faith, which can be found on the board at Arsmith’s Alehouse in Gran Soren.  

Dragon’s Dogma – The Dragonforged

Some gamers have reported issues with the Dragon’s Dogma Nameless Terror quest. The most common problem being that the ambushes don’t trigger when players are seemingly at the right location. 

Nine times out of ten, this issue is solved by simply waiting until nightfall to reach the ambush locations. Remember, this quest MUST be completed during the night in order to be completed. 

If the issue persists, it’s possible that you are not following the correct order. The ambushes must be completed in a specific order. Follow the order of the ambush locations outlined above in the article, and make sure that you always reach the leader, Zero, last.
